Musée d'Orsay, Paris / France · 2015 where the past lives
France makes perfect, endearing sense. Snuggling up to Spain and Germany alike, the societal temperature is just right. Fruitfully pleasant. Joie de vivre with determination. Love and logic. Full of natural, mask-less people. And it has a Paris. And French cuisine, which I am yet to understand. Bah oui, très jolie.
glimpse: ALL WAS FEEL | On an afternoon so long ago, I lived a life so far away, where all was feel and none was thought, and no one with me there but me, with all my souls and both my soles, my eyes so keen to feed my heart, which longed for the moment I was in more than for any other part. And every house I came across was a home that was mine too, where I lived all sorts of fleeting lives, on an afternoon so long ago.
glimpse: HARDHEADED HEART | When you’re in love, in a happy relationship, or a fresh arrival to the honeymoon phase, the heart exclaims boldly that the feeling will last. And no matter how skeptical the mind, no matter how condescendingly it unveils the heart’s youthful foolishness, it can’t tame the wildly beating chest. In Paris, couples prove their faith in the hardheaded heart by fastening padlocks to bridges along the Seine river and tossing the key into the water. How many of the relationships are still locked in the sturdy embrace is unknown, but there’s certainly no lack of believers.

Honfleur / A Few Centuries
Honfleur / France · 2015 ebbing sky
A coastal cuteness that Honfleur. The Seine empties herself into the Atlantic there and you can see Le Havre on the other side of that widening water.

The town conserved more than a few centuries in the bones of its half-timbered houses, and the beach was long and fairly wild. When the last leaf fell, the sun fell with it and clouds got comfortable in the sky, where they lingered, lazily, without ever releasing much of their burden as though they didn’t want to move on. Eventually, we did.

The Observer Effect: Momentary Momentum
...the camera’s skill to freeze the momentary momentum in-between scenes is nothing short of miraculous and reminds me of a quirky phenomenon in the quantum realm: the observer effect. see more
