Symbolic of the lightness in the little things—tucked away in the folds of society’s big pursuits—EARTHSCRAPER is a candid street shot that transports something deeply human and humoristic without anybody making an appearance. The story that led up to the scene is anyone’s guess. We only know that a lonely shopping cart is parked across from one of the world’s most futuristic buildings: the Manama World Trade Center in Bahrain. Both a screaming juxtaposition and a subtle extension of complementary elements, the skyscraper and the "earthscraper" complete and contrast each other simultaneously: shopping is an extension of trade, but a cheap and unassuming plastic cart isn't exactly what you would expect in front of an architectural multimillion-dollar extravaganza. Walking all over town in search of the picture perfect angle to do the building justice, the result might very well be perceived as an injustice, but it is undeniably unique in its arbitrariness.
