Open editions can be produced in unlimited numbers. They are printed on high quality Fuji photo paper by means of traditional photo processing (C-printing). Open edition prints are affordable wall art of a higher quality standard than typical posters, which are printed on poster paper with weaker color reproduction.
Limited editions are restricted to a certain number of copies (100 and 50, corresponding to two formats), which makes them collectible and increases their value. Since they are scarce, prices and value keep increasing as they sell out. For instance, the last remaining piece of an edition will sell at a much higher price than the first piece. The value of each artwork within the edition rises accordingly. The earlier you buy a limited edition, the more affordable it will be and the more its value can increase. Limited editions are printed on distinguished Hahnemühle fine art paper (Bamboo) by applying state-of-the-art inkjet technology (Glicée) to meet highest archival standards, and ship with a certificate of authenticity. Once a limited edition is sold out, it will never be printed in the same format again. Limited editions are the right choice if you want to own an original collector’s item.
Fine art prints are smaller-numbered limited editions (20, 10, and 5, corresponding to three formats), which makes them highly collectible and increases their value significantly. Since they are scarce, prices and value keep increasing steeply as they sell out. For instance, the last remaining piece of an edition will sell at a much higher price than the first piece. The value of each artwork within the edition rises accordingly. The earlier you buy a fine art limited edition, the more affordable it will be and the more its value can increase. Fine art limited editions are printed on distinguished Hahnemühle fine art paper (Photorag) by applying state-of-the-art inkjet technology (Glicée) to meet highest archival standards, and ship with a certificate of authenticity. Once a fine art limited edition is sold out, it will never be produced in the same format again. Fine art limited editions are the ideal option if you are looking for exclusive photo artwork, limited to a handful of pieces worldwide.
Glimpses are a novel artform that combines photography and writing in a never-done-before way. Every print consists of one image with one dedicated text. Glimpses are printed in two versions: an open edition with unlimited copies, and a single edition that is a one-off original. Glimpses have the same print specifications as fine art editions. The open edition is for you if you’re looking for photography artwork that is something else. If, on top of that, you want a singular piece that is fully unique and only printed once, the single edition has your name on it (and mine, given that it is hand-signed).
AP = artist proof. Artist proofs are copies printed outside the regular limited edition. These are used, for instance, to keep showing the work at galleries or museums after the limited edition is sold out.

Since all screens are calibrated differently, the color reproduction of your screen might deviate slightly from the actual print. Also, keep in mind that screens emit light, while prints reflect it. The brighter your screen adjustments, the darker the print might look in comparison. In the same vein, your print might look brighter or darker depending on the lighting in your space. That being said, all images are vetted to be suited for correct print reproduction. That is, the way your print looks, is the way it should look to be in line with Miles Astray's artistic vision. If a print is not to your complete satisfaction for whatever reason, you may return it in accordance with the return policy.
Just say the word! All open collection prints that you find in the shop can be printed in additional formats, sizes, and styles. Moreover, most images throughout this website are available as prints and digital licenses even if you can’t find them in the shop.
